In the process of wire cutting, the pulse interval of pulse current and pulse voltage directly determines the cutting speed. For the same discharge energy, the smaller the pulse interval, the greater the average discharge current and the faster the cutting speed. However, in actual production, the size of the pulse interval is limited, and if it is too small, it is not conducive to processing, so that the substances removed during the discharge process cannot be eliminated in time, so that the discharge interval does not have enough time for ionization, resulting in no problems in the processing process. disconnection, etc. Therefore, the processing speed cannot be unilaterally increased by reducing the pulse interval. Therefore, in order to improve the processing speed while ensuring the processing accuracy, we usually need to reduce the pulse interval as much as possible, so that the pulse power discharge interval has a certain adaptability to the discharge gap. .
Electrode line loss
EDM pulse discharge will decompose the working fluid. The instantaneous high temperature in the discharge area will melt or vaporize the metal on the surface of the workpiece. The microscopic process is that the discharge generates electrons or ions to bombard the metal surface. When the pulse width is different, different types of particles escape, so it can be seen that the tool electrode is also bombarded and the tool wears out. Wire-cut EDM is also the reason for the loss of the processing electrode wire. In addition, if the pulse width is too small during the processing, secondary discharge will occur, causing arcing, burning the processing surface, and also damaging the electrode wire. The peak current will also cause the loss of the electrode wire, and its influence is even greater than the influence of the pulse width. Excessive peak current will not only cause the machining surface to fail to meet the accuracy requirements, but also wear the electrode wire.
